Baby Adam Rides to the Moon

Baby Adam wanted a ride on the spaceship that sat in front of the grocery store. Mommy put him into the seat and then put some money into the spaceship’s money box.

Slowly the spaceship lifted up from its pad in front of the store. Mommy waved as Adam soared higher and higher. He flew high over the store and soon he could see Mommy's car and then their house.

Adam waved at Daddy playing with Durango and Sunshine in the backyard.

Soon Adam could see all of Dallas and the state of Texas where he lived. After a little while he could see the oceans on both sides of the continent of the Americas.

The sky got very black and he could see how round the world was. Baby Adam could see the big puffy clouds and sometimes they rained and snowed. Adam was so high he didn't think people would see him but he waved at them anyway, just to be nice.

Baby could see the astronauts as they waved from the space station in its orbit above the Earth. So he waved again.

Now he could see that the big white ball of the Moon was getting bigger and bigger. The Moon had lots of deep holes in it all over where big rocks had fallen down.

The Moon was big and white and Adam looked back over his shoulder to see the Earth. He could see the oceans and clouds and sometimes he could still see Texas but he didn't think people would be able to see him so he didn't wave this time.

When he got to the Moon though Adam thought he should turn around so mommy wouldn't worry about him.
